A fun location in Fountain Square & good atmosphere in a historic building. New to Sheila, Jennifer had eaten there previously and recommended trying the burger & crinkle-cut fries. Sheila followed Jennifer’s recommendation of a burger, but went for the onion rings instead of fries. Both went for the combo meals – Sheila the mushroom swiss burger, onion rings & cole slaw, & Jennifer had the bacon cheeseburger with fries & cole slaw.
The cole slaw was brought out before the rest of the meal & almost served as an appetizer. Sheila liked it but probably wouldn’t get it again, not fully appreciating what she thought was celery seeds mixed in with the slaw.
Burgers were a perfect size – not so huge to leave us feeling overstuffed, but large enough to satisfy. The onion rings were good, but not good enough to justify the extra $.95 they cost. If there’s a next time, Sheila will go for the fries which looked great.
Jennifer especially appreciated the FOUR cherries included in her way fab cherry coke. She found herself wishing she’d gone for a chocolate shake instead of just water.
Service was an experience – after greeting us the server immediately launched into a complaint about her work schedule, tattle tale coworkers and rotten manager. Way too much information! She did bring drinks promptly at least. Bringing the bill allowed another opportunity to go into a long spiel about something or other – at that point who was even pretending to listen?
