The dining duo, aka Jennifer and Sheila, are friends who enjoy eating out & rehashing their dining experiences. We’d do a lot more of it if we’d just hit the lottery. Since that hasn’t happened yet, there will be a lot more food reviewing happening over at our other blog, Dish Some More, which will have reviews and commentary on anything food- and drink-related that doesn’t take place in a restaurant. That is of course, if we can ever get around to writing about the stuff instead of just fixing and consuming it.
Jennifer’s favorite foods include burgers, tenderloin sandwiches, (breaded of course – what self-respecting Hoosier would say otherwise), seafood, pizza, and ham & cheese in all its variations. Her best meal ever in Indianapolis was at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse (sorry to all the chain-haters). Don’t hold your breath for us to post a review of Ruth’s Chris, unless someone wants to underwrite that meal. She considers capers, water chestnuts, and olives an abomination.
Favorites for Sheila include red meat (especially steak), Tex-Mex, and pasta, preferably with a Dr. Pepper to chase it all down. Unfortunately, her doctor does not recommend the liquid Dr. so she has had to refrain from her favorite beverage. Her best meal ever in Indy was probably Shula’s (yet another chain). It is slightly more possible we might be able to review it, but subsidies would still be welcomed. She is very hesitant about seafood, abhors raw onions, and agrees with Jennifer on the horror that is the water chestnut. Unlike her dining companion, Sheila will happily eat any and all olives she’s offered, and no longer even asks Jennifer if she can pick them off her plate, instead just grabbing them as soon as the plate is delivered.
Both agree that Indian and Chinese restaurants are to be avoided at all costs.
